Welcome to Turning Point’s new website!! Turning point Productions began as a choir in the small fishing town of Brixham on the English Riviera in South Devon in 2008, led by Andrew Smith-Turner. Andrew met Helen in early 2011 when he and some colleagues interviewed her to run a new players selection of the group and direct their upcoming play ‘Allo ‘Allo. Over the next couple of years Perform grew several new branches including Samba Band and Glee Club and eventually evolved into Turning Point Productions – around about the time Andrew proposed to Helen. As Turning Point, Helen and Andrew have produced musicals, variety shows, plays, supper theatres, drama festivals and short films, many of which have been award winning. Alongside this they have taught drama and music workshops and clubs at primary schools throughout Torbay. They ran weekly Vocalise and Improvise classes, had their house band ‘McMac’ and organised several charity events including Supper Theatres, Family Fun Days and Quiz Nights. The Smith-Turners relocated to Sussex in late 2015 and thrilled to have already put on a show with a talented, enthusiastic and hardworking cast and crew.
Aside from running Turning Point, Helen is currently an Activities and Entertainment Coordinator for Sussex Health Care and Andrew is a Percussion Teacher for West Sussex Music Service.
